Fresh Mountain Trout
We had a great time hiking part of the Pacific Crest Trail http://www.pcta.org/ . As you can see the lakes, mountains, wild flowers, and the brook trout were beautiful. It was evident why we try and do this once a year. The pictures don’t do justice. When we got home my husband cooked up the trout with nice glass of wine, some shrimp, salad, and tater tots…the fresh trout was delicious. I was so amazed at the flavor of the trout that I asked what seasoning he use…he said same as usual…it was the freshness that makes them taste so good.

Sunrise on the Bluff
My daughter and I like to take early morning walks.
This spot on the bluff overlooking the American River is one of our favorite places.

Baby's Voice Buttons and Precious Feet
Thursday we joined a small group of Pro-Life ladies in front of a local abortion clinic to share the goodness of life.
I took along some Baby's Voice Buttons that my brother made in his effort to encourage people to choose life for their unborn babies. His website is http://babystw.weebly.com/ .
If you are not Pro-Life, I encourage you to learn the facts about abortion. Start HERE.

Spring Flowers
My front (living room) window flower-box
Flowers on our doorstep.
Azaleas my husband bought this past weekend.
You will also see a poinsettia that has been holding on quite nicely since it was bought before Thanksgiving Day last year. I have never had a poinsettia last so long!

An Ordinary Spring Morning
I just went out and took this photo of the snow peas in the garden.
We ate grapefruit from our tree, as we do nearly every morning.
They are wonderfully sweet and juicy!

This morning, after eating our grapefruit by the pool, we picked snow peas from the garden.

The Color of an Egg
My daughter and I colored eggs this morning.
These were the leftovers after breakfast.
Her's are always the most creative.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

God's Beautiful Ocean
My current desktop background - a snapshot from a recent trip to Pacific Grove, California.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. ...Genesis 1:1-3

A Small Sitting Room
My husband and I have always wanted a little space in our bedroom for reading. In our small home, we have had precious little space for such luxury. But since we built a lovely little studio in our back yard just about two years ago, and moved some things out there, we now have more space in our bedroom.
The day before Thanksgiving, we went to IKEA (for the very first time) and bought ourselves a few items that fit very nicely in our small space. I chose the black lamps and the black tray to accent a slightly masculine look, which also goes with the black flat-screen TV on the wall, since this is for my husband as well as myself.

I love this beautiful black tray
This was an early Christmas present to each other.
