Speak the Truth in Love

Suck it up; deal with it. This is NOT a nice way to talk. Some people think that being “honest” allows them to say whatever they think. Just what would this world be like if we were all so blunt? Sure, go ahead and be honest, but say what you have to say kindly and gently. “Suck it up; deal with it” is not an elegant or graceful way to express one’s thoughts.

Not only does this expression reflect callousness, it also reveals the attitude of the heart.
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:

I am a sensitive person – oh yeah. I am sensitive to harsh words. However, that does not mean that I cannot handle the truth. Above all else, I want to know the truth. “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

In speaking the truth, the person you are communicating to should feel that your words are an expression of love. Just stating that you are what you are about to say is said in love is not good enough. If it does not come across as loving, it is not. You cannot hide harshness, especially in writing.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [deep, unselfish love expressing the goodwill of God], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

One more thought, please, be careful not to use the word “stupid” when commenting on anther persons reasons for doing or not doing something.
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

So let us all with the meekness and gentleness of Christ show humility and kindheartedness in all what we do and say.
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
